I have a little over a month to get ready to leave Brooklyn and be on my own on the road for 5 months. Part of that is cramming in as many summer experiences in New York as I can before I set out. I love summer in the city!
I went to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden this weekend to view the cherry blossom trees. It was spectacular. All the young couples are trying to get the best selfies while all the older couples are trying to keep track of their kids who are running amok in the gardens seemingly overjoyed by all the pink. There was one exception, a young boy crying and screaming “NO MORE FLOWERRRRRSSSSSS!!!!!”
The overcrowdedness is part of the fun. What I love about the seas of people you find in New York City are the weird snippets of conversation and funny moments you can see just by losing sight of the forest for the trees.
