I made my first large investment in the trip making the commitment very real and very exciting for me. No more empty words of ambition! only real steps towards my goal.

I traded in my old camera on a refurbed Nikon d800 in preparation for my 2900-3000 mile walk.  The image and video quality is amazing. I’ve found myself inspired to start taking more stills.

The amount of information the d800 captures in shadows is amazing. Having, for the first time, a full 35mm sensor digital camera suddenly makes all my lenses suddenly feel expansively wide.

The ability to preserve highlights and pull up shadows without noise and the full frame sensor make seeing the world through the camera so much more similar to what I see through my eyes. I can’t wait to take it on the road and see what I can make.
